Celebrate motorsport in Tasmania

Cars hit the road at the Longford Revival Festival.
Cars hit the road at the Longford Revival Festival. Geoff Smedley

FROM 1953 to 1968, historic Longford was an iconic motorsport destination, where legendary drivers like Amon, McLaren, Brabham, Hulme, Moss, Clark, Hill and Surtees reached incredible speeds on the circuit's famous "Flying Mile".

The inaugural revival festival aims to capture the history and excitement of those halcyon days, and the flying mile will again reverberate with the roar of high-performance engines during speed demonstrations featuring cars and bikes of both yesterday and today.

Other vehicles will be on display at "Shannon's Show and Shine", and there'll be trade displays, and a lively programme of music and entertainment, fashion and food that celebrates the lifestyle of the 60s.

The Longford Revivial Festival runs from April 1-3, at Longford, Tasmania.
