Bobby Brown arrested for DUI
BOBBY Brown has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).
The New Edition singer was stopped by police in Los Angeles this afternoon (26.03.12) for allegedly driving while talking on his phone and then failed a sobriety test, but it is unclear what substance officers believe the troubled star had taken before getting behind the wheel.
According to gossip website TMZ, Bobby is currently in custody in Van Nuys jail but his representatives are said to be en route to the facility to post bail.
The 43-year-old singer - whose ex-wife Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel room in February - was previously convicted of DUI in Georgia in 1996.
The 'Two Can Play That Game' hitmaker entered a guilty plea at the time and served eight days in jail for the offence.
Bobby and Whitney - who have a 19-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina - were married from 1992 to 2007 and had a volatile relationship blighted by drug abuse and accusations of violence.
The singer is currently engaged to Alicia Etheridge.
