Australia looking good on day three

RICKY Ponting suffered some horrible luck once again, but he may have done enough to temporarily dispel doubts about his future in the third Test against the West Indies at Dominica.

His team also looks poised to win the series 2-0 after it took a 310-run lead going into the fourth day at Windsor Park.

Ponting was out for 57 when he was caught at slip after he ducked a Kemar Roach short ball that ballooned off the back of his bat.

The 37-year-old veteran shared an 87-run partnership with opener Ed Cowan (55) that saw the visitors reach 6-200 at stumps and give them their competitive lead on a deteriorating pitch.

Off-spinner Nathan Lyon extracted plenty of bounce and turn on day three to finish with figures of 4-69 as the hosts were bowled out for 218.
