Actress blasts prostitution 'lie'

ACTRESS Zhang Ziyi has slammed as "a complete lie" a Hong Kong newspaper's allegations she was paid millions of dollars to sleep with a disgraced Chinese politician.

Zhang, who has starred in numerous films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Memoirs of a Geisha, said she would sue the tabloid newspaper, Apple Daily, after it claimed she had sex with Bo Xilai at least 10 times between 2007 and 2011, and that she was once paid 10 million yuan ($1.6 million).

"This piece of news is a complete lie," London's Daily Telegraph quoted Zhang as saying.

"Both within the article and between the lines there were contemptuous lies. I met my lawyers in Hong Kong and clearly expressed my position. Whatever the cost, I will seek legal recourse and pursue this matter to the very end."

Her publicist added: "This time, we are telling those rumour-makers that we will respond. We will prove our side of the story; we'll seek legal justice; we'll find you in the darkest corner and go after you."
