500 to walk from Ballina to Byron
DUE to an overwhelming response, registrations have now closed for the Ballina to Byron Bay Charity Walk to be held on May 20.
Event organisers, Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, were expecting 200 walkers to register for the event and were pleased that registrations far exceeded expectations, with close to 500 participants nominating to take on the challenging walk.
Ballina's Golden Girl, former Olympic walker Kerry Saxby-Junna, will take part.
